Cyclone collapsed stacked leaf spring

Post by farleyjd400 »

Regarding my 77 Cyclone 440, I noticed after my last Vintage ride of the year last weekend that one of the stacked leaf springs on one of the skis is sagging and does not sit even close to as high as the other side. Im assuming I will have to find a good leaf spring because these are collapsed or can these be fixed? Im open to any suggestions or other springs that will work that I can look for. I do have a set of the single spring off a 76 cyclone but I would prefer to stick with the stacked leaf spring.

Thanks

Find a good spring and axle shop and see if they can re-Arch the leaves. They generally heat them up in an oil bath and then bend them. Worked every time on my IHC Scouts and no reason it can’t work so long as the spring isn’t cracked or failed. It may cost more than finding a set of used springs but you would have a “new” set.
