Just picked up a 80 Liquifire with a Kawaski 440, it doesn't run. It sat for a few years, had old gas in it.Icompletely cleaned the fuel system out, seems to get fuel fine now but no spark at plugs. Any why to check to see if cdi box or coil is bad?
Thanks Dale

You can check the stator coils with an ohmeter. I have a proceedure for it somewhere. Can someone tell him off the top of your head? If not, I'll try to find it in my book later (I can't get to my books right now). There's no way to test the CDI without special equipment.
The first thing to try would be to disconnect the main wiring harness (to eliminate any switches that might be messing you up) and try again. It's the big grey plug mounted down by the CDI on the flywheel housing if I remember correctly. I think there are 6 wires going into it. Unplug that and check for spark again.
