Spent a week cleaning 9 years worth of dust and crud off of 72 400 that was restored in 2013. Fired up for the first time since then and it went on the trailer under its own power. It is slated to be on display at ERX.

A few us are planning to meet the guys running the I-500 route Saturday morning in Becker, and run down to ERX with them.

I haven't decided yet, but I may ride the beater sled, which is a bucket of bolts, but is also a bit of a 72 clone.

She is running and as detailed as I have ever had it.

Spent the day at ERX.. Talked to many guys I know on this site, and others I’ve heard of, just never met or put a face to the name. Really awesome experience! All three of my sleds are running good, so I have the luck of the Irish on my side for once!

Here are some shots of the340/S tribute sled long time list member Chuck Moser recently finished. The genuine 1975 I-500 3rd place finishing sled driven by Jon Carlson is displayed at the Snowmobile Hall of Fame in St Germain. The hood with the gold leaf striping was used on the 340/S that Jon raced subsequent to the I-500 that year. All of it is gorgeous, Chuck did a great job. From what I was told, this project was undertaken at Jon's request, and Jon provided some parts and much oversight initially. The plan had been to have Jon ride this sled this winter, but i t was not to be, as he passed in Oct.

Here is a shot of the re-created 340/S liquid cooled prototype that Chuck Moser did as well. The story I have heard is that towards the end of the 75 season, a liquid cooled prototype was raced in some of the open class races to judge the worth and viability of Deere's liquid cooled engine design. Only a few of these engines survived, and Chuck had acquired this one some years ago.
