1982 Trailfire LX blue skis and idler wheels
I'm working on a "82 Trailfire LX. Sled is in rough original condition. I'm trying to determine why I am finding blue paint on the skis and skid/idler wheels. Did John Deere use a blue primer paint under the black finish? First thought was someone got happy with blue paint or the skis were from a 440 Intruder. I'm finding the same blue paint on the idler wheels and skid. Any thoughts throw my way. Thanks.

Skis were blitz black from the factory. Wheels were black plastic.

Hey Nick, based on your years of JD ownership have you found JD parts to be easily interchanged with Kawasaki sled parts? I know the TrailFire has a Kawasaki motor I was wondering how close the chasis design was with the same year Kawasaki's?
