My 81 liquifire has a 22 top gear. Wonder if any knows where to get gears. Like to get 2:1 but not sure if possible?

I've never had a reason to replace gears or chains so take this with a grain of salt. I have always had the impression that the chains are pretty vanilla and were used by most manufacturers back in the day. I do know that many of the more modern sleds run wider chains and gears.

I do know with certainty that Polaris used the same chain case gasket.

I have also attached a page from the service manual that mentions chains and gear sizes.

I just found a case n gears for 400. My took a wallop and was patched up. 19-39 gears. Perfect for drag racing

The 80-81 Liquifire came with the very steep 22/35 gear ratio or 1.65 with a 66 pitch chain. Deere sent out a memo recommending a 21/39 ratio with a 68 pitch chain for better all around performance at the expense of a few MPH on top end.

There is nothing rare about those gears. However, if you're replacing everything, I would suggest going up to 13 plate wide chain and gear from the original 11 plate. Cat and Polaris up through the 90's or later fit.
