As per usual had a wanted ad for some misc jd sled parts and came home with this 800.
Says 672 miles on it - previous owner did a lot of the hard work, new crank seals and top end a few years ago. Has new drive bearings and converted to a Mikuni, and CDI.
Needs a new clutch (current one has spider damage) but overall I’m happy with it.
Gave it a good cleaning today and tried to give it a quick polish as the paint had some weird dirt/oxidation. Here is the before:

Plans for it - not much other than clean it up a bit more, fix the clutch and wait till the little guy is big enough to drive it - now all three of my kids have their “own” JD just have to get one for myself now I guess.

Sled had a good first trial run - drove it on what snow we had to the races / snow n shine out here. That mikuni made it run and idle great, definitely considering it on the 400 now.
