For anyone considering coming up for the RWTC in February, there is a local event being held on Tuesday and Wednesday of that week in Land O Lakes, which is just 20 miles north of Eagle River. The planned vintage ride on Wed to Bent's Camp is familiar to any who have done the Vintage Challenge, as we have been there every year we went up to Fishtails.
I have a room booked, Katy and I plan to make a week of it. The Gateway is an old lodge, and may very well be the venue that Deere held their big dealer meeting at in early 73 to detail the many fixes they had come up with to address the issues they were having with the new JDX8.
I asked the gal at the desk to arrange for snow.
