440 kawasaki engine

Post by jrbsnow »

Hi all, I was wondering what the difference was between a 440 Invader engine and a Liquifire 440 engine. Can an Invader engine be put in a Liquifire? Does it need any mods? Thanks, Jay.

I believe the invader engine had different heads and timing curve than the deere. they used different carbs too I believe. But the engines can be transpalnted between the brands. Not sure what, if anything, would need to be changed.

The carb jetting may need to looked at. The deere sleds have left hand and right hand jetting. (only one jet is different) and the larger jet is on the pto side.

Thanks guys, I have a 1980 Invader here, and I thought I might try to put the engine in a newer Liquifire, but I have too many projects right now, so I think I will just part the sled out. Jay.

Sorry about the mix-up, but I meant part out the Invader. Sorry to get your hopes up. I had an 80 Liquifire a few years ago, sold it, and I wish I had it back. What I meant was if I could find an 80-up Liquifire, I would maybe buy it and put the Invader engine in it. But now I have too many projects, and not enough time. Thanks, Jay.
