Liquidator main jets

Post by kioritz »

I am trying to sort out a few issues. What size main jets are you guys running in your Liquidators. Did they come standard with a 240? I am running 290's. Do you think that is a little rich? The manual says 280's from -5 to +25 degrees F. Just wondering what is working good for the Liquidator riders on this site.(real world data.) Thank you. Jason

Jason, start with 290 mains and 45 pilots, run it then check plug color, and look at the top if the pistons to see how much wash you have AND ALWAYS ALWAYS WARM THIS BEAST UP BEFORE YOU RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My rule on my daters is it don't move until I see the temp guage move. The dater that is my main sled I installed ex temp guages in it and have much smaller jets but every dater is different like Jon has said they will and can brake your heart

Listen for advice from Mark, Rich and Joe......these girls are "finicky" all are different, also give them more fuel than they show you on the plug color, fuel cools them and keeps them lubricated.......more is better.....Trust me, I know, Best JRC

I appreciate your reply's. I can't remember what pilots it has(I wrote down the mains but not the pilots) so I'll have to tear into the carbs again. (Haven't touched it since last winter.) I am going to try to get this thing out to an open place and run it again to see if any of the adjustments I'll make will change anything.(It wouldn't go past 50 last year.) I am sure I will have more questions after that. Thanks again for the advice. Jason

Mark where did you mount ext temp gauge? Rich did you use Liqifire heat exchanger and how hard is it to pipe lines to it? I would like to do both of these mods to my Dator. Thank you. Shannon

Shannon, when I got this dater there was NO guages in it and hardley any wiring left other than tether, brake light was hooked to high low beam switch, but there was a plate covering where the tach was with a small 2 inch hole and what was left of probes in the pipes,I put it back as close as it was with the tach on the right side "were the mph guage would go" and a EGT guage on the left side, this sled also had, juice brake, twist grip, rear fuel tank, heat exchanger in front of track and lightweight suspension, this is my main sled when we get snow I easily put close to a 1000 miles on it a winter and I can't remember the last time I even replaced sparkplugs, every fall I go through it front to back and it has ben bullitproof for me!!
