Note that this is a 400cc piston port and not somthing that would have originally come from a Deere. It probably originally from a Scorpion. Also keep in mind that all the RS motors from the limited JDs are just tuned up piston port motors, so if someone balanced & blueprinted, polished & ported a standard KEC, you could get very good results.

Also note, that I would not want to take a JDX over 100 mph

Don't 94-C duster clutches turn to dust at 70mph? And don't reed valves help performance? I want to see the day that a 440 goes in excess of 100mph w/ 1 carb and a shitty clutch.

In the stock motors they do, but like I said above, a piston port can do better if designed right.

Oh, man. Thats a great one. Wonder if that guy has any clue about the motor at all? Some of you must be emailing him, cause he is getting pretty ticked off. I'm gonna put that item on 'watch', and see where this goes.

that auction is funny. If it's who i think it is he lives right down the road from me and owns a junkyard. He also likes to run demolition derbys. His name is Wes Wittaker.
100mph, my 440 l/c eltigre wont go that fast.

I've been e-mailing with the seller backchannel. I don't think he is a fraud, but I think he poorly described the sled. It is not really a JDX6, but more like a custom race sled. Originally it had a Comet 108. The seller removed it and put on the Duster to sell the 108 seperately. The motor has about every modification you can think of. 220 PSI is still hard to believe, but he stands by it.

I don't think I would belive him. If there was a 100mph old sled in Earlville, chances are I'd know about it. The guy live about 10 miles from me, and he is a notorious bullshitter.

Matt,, not to judge you for what u found out but as it reads in his auction(or did read) that this clutch(the duster) was matched to the performance of this motor. Ans with the rust on the clutch it hasnt seen a belt in years, i have several sleds that sit outside and clutches are not that rusty unless not been used in years.
Are u attempting to get photos of this sled? it would be interesting if you do get them..
Also the guy that lives just 10 miles or so away, run down there to look at it let us know im all for creating madness sleds like he claims, i have about 25 100 series chassis` laying aroung i think it would be fun to monster a jdx6 or what ever!!..

Also I do not agree with the guy who jumped the guy with vulgar language about his auction, nor did i think that it would be taken to heart like it has,,, but i think that 99% of those who read it think that it is a joke, im kinda glad it got pulled, instead of a newbie to john deere snowmobiles wanting to build a fast sled and got this motor, and with compression that high we all know what will happen to it if it isnt run with proper fuels,, i once installed a 440 top on a 340 bottom, the thing ran awsome for about ten minutes..
I also would think that if a little oil dropped in the cylinders could bring compression to that point, and why not sell it complete if it is such a modified race deere like he is claiming, , oh well guess i started this mess, opps!!!

Speedy, he said he is not the Wes Wittaker guy you mentioned.

Good call on the clutch line in the auction. Now he's caught in a lie. He did say he would take photos of the sled when he can get it dug out.
