These Exciters are so much fun!!! A great sled for jumping, trialriding, and just bee-boppin around the yard. I had one a couple years ago that i absolutely rode into the ground and it stayed with me all 10,000 miles i put on it. They are super light, they have moderate power, its an odd motor, like a 570 or something like that, and there are a bunch of parts out for them! Some people want a pretty penny for these sleds and they usually get the price their asking for. Mine had Aaen pipes on it, a moderate port and polish. Super fun sled to ride or take out for weekend fun. My sled was the Exciter II and had the ProAction Mountain package where they upgraded the suspension and had some other little extras on it. A positive is that there are a ton of parts out for them and most parts are interchangeable with the Phazer. Definetly faaaassssst. Great sled...If you can get it resonable, i would recommend it highly. Good luck, let me know if you have any other questions!

I had an Exciter like this. It was as reliable as the sun rising and was very fast in it's day. Actually, still very fast. Rode decent but I remember it being a bit darty on the trails. Overall, I had a great experience with mine. If the price is right, snap it up. I suppose around 470-500 lbs, 80-95 hp, and yes oil injection. The last premix Yamaha was the 1979 SRX.

These were fun sleds but that pogo front end sucked. We can buy these for 450.00 all day long. Be reallistic walking into this its a vintage ride of sorts. The clutch brings 165.00 on ebay used, cylinders will bring close to 200.00. They are so popular, that it would be more fesible to buy a good running sled that is a 96 or something. The one I sold this winter had a new crank , new cylinder sleeves, and ran like a freak at a presidential convention. But it only sold for 575.00. If you are gonna part it look it over close , if its straight, buy it.Cya doug
