Elkland Show Results

Post by JoeRainville »

Hi Guys,

Cari and I just got home from the sled show in Elkland, Pa. We had a pretty good turn out, and the weather was great. Aaron Z made a guest apperance as himself, Tim Kudla and Nick Freatman also made it.

Between Tim and I, we had 4 Deere's entered in the show: my 78 CC and 84 Liquifire, Tim's 82 Liquifire and 340 Trailfire. There was also a nice 83 Sprint up for sale, and a few used Deere parts aside from my NOS selection.

Good new is that 3 of the 4 Deere sleds trophied! Tim took 2nd in class 18, 82-87 Trail class, with his 82 Liquifire (we think, or was it his Trailfire?), I took first in class 18 with my 84 Liquifire, and first in class 9, Race Original from 74-81 with my CC. Cool that Deere swept class 18 and won two classes. Nice for them to get some recognition.

Then Cari and I stopped by the 2 cylinder Expo held every 2 years in NY. Aside from a pile of 2 bangers, there were even a few Deere sleds on display. We ended the night watching the tractor pulls...

Later Liquidator,

Here are the two sled at the Expo, a 1973 JDX-4 and a 1980 Spitfire. Looks like I will bring a line up for the next show in 2 years. Even renewed my membership to my local 2-Cylinder club...

On Friday there was a '72 500 beside the Spitfire at Canandaigua. There were more sleds on display in years past. There was a '76 or '77 Liquifire that sold at the auction on Thursday.

Joe and Tim, Congrats on the winnings.

Now Joe, where are the 2 cylinder pics? Sleds are nice, but somtimes seeing pics of a B or a 720 are just as good.
