Hey Bob, how cool would that be though? I'd even try to get back in shape to run that one! According to mapquest it would have to be renamed the Winnipeg-Anchorage I-2752.11 LOL. Rich, I hope you don't think I'm poking fun at you cause I'm not. Bob, am I going to get to meet you at the HOF in February?? Don

Hey Rich

I believe the 81 I-500 was going to start in St paul and end in Winnepeg, but it was canceled due to lack of snow. That was one of the reasons that Dinger & Danny hooked up to run the Michagin enduros.

One racers ATV got away from him and crashed into a group of spectators. People got seriously hurt and the lawsuits were everywhere such ending the Carnival event......End of story.

Knowing first hand the logistics of an event like the I-500, it had to be a terrible feeling to cancel it. Lots of people, lots of work. Boy how disheartening. DA

Oh, hey Chuck thanks for posting the information. Thank God you had the desire and presence of mind to save the stuff. A whole bunch of folks owe you a LOT. DA
