2009 HOF Ride With The Champs

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

I just made my reservation at the Whitetail Lodge for next February. There are a couple of important things about the weekend. First of all, the ride is scheduled for February 14th which is Valentine's Day (better be nice to your honey) and secondly it's one of the three busiest weekends in St. Germain because it's a three day Holiday (President's Day). The Whitetail Lodge has rooms available but there is a three (3) night minimum. Your stay must include Friday and Saturday. In my case I'll be staying there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday but....Dave said it could also be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's not cheap but it's very convenient. If your planning on attending you need to ask if your hotel/motel has a 3 night minimum.

My original plan was to put together a weekend package by reserving several rooms but since finding out this information I'd rather not be the "trip leader" next year.

I would like to reserve the upper deck of the 19th Hole next year for a Friday night fish fry. Let me know what you think.

Forgot to mention, if you're interested in the Whitetail Lodge, the number is 800-236-0460. I spoke with Dave.

I had kinda been thinking of reserving a room at the Whitetail Lodge after last Feb's Ride with the Champs.

The advantage was that everything is so close together, you could park the truck, and ride the sled between the venues all weekend. This gives us more time at the bar!

A three day minimum pretty much takes the fun out of it for me at this point.

Don, the upper deck at the 19th Hole sounds great to me! We may have to make a special menu request for Rainville though. Perhaps a big bowl of oatmeal with some crushed Rolaids sprinkled on top.

It is official, no HOF ride for me this year. I just went in debt due to an auto expense for my daughter today. Sleds are on hold. $$$ is flying right out the window. I still gotta pick up some sleds yet but the finances are real tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I say tight.

Car insurance went from $469 for 6 months to over $1000 in 6 months... That's life!!

Gee Guys, thanks for bring up, well, what I brought up! God, I felt like walking death...but nothing was going to keep me from that ride. Thank God lunch stayed down!

I am all for getting into St. Germain Thursday so we can ride all day Friday, but the thought of a Fish Fry does give me the whillies a bit...
