Whats everyones ages compared to the sleds they own?
Some of you guys are really young.
I am 35 and started loving all sleds back in the early 70's. Still remember my first ride on one and it was a JD 440..from that point on well you guessed it, I was hooked!!

I picked up my '74 400 a couple years ago for $50 CDN, and spent $300 getting it running, lol . Im 19 now and in my second year of university and i just like the vintage sleds, its neat to ride the old machines and to see peoples reactions.

I'm 21, and I've been obsessed w/ JD sleds since I was 8 years old. The first sled I ever rode was an 81 Spitfire. I eventually graduated to a Trailfire, then a Sportfire, now I have a Liquifire, a Sprintfire, and the same old Spit and Trail. I like sleds I can manhandle vs. the ones that seem to manhandle you.

I'm 17, my sleds are twice as old as me at most. My grandpa had a 500, 400, and X8 which I now have and my mom still has the X6. First sled I ever rode when I was way young. Took snowmobile safety and wanted a new sled but I couldn't afford a new ZR900 so I just got a 400 and then more just kept showing up on eBay and in the newspaper so I keep buying them. 13 Deeres now and the Massey which is a 500+ pound tank.

I grew up on a '72 400, my brother rode a '73 300. We chased each other for hours and ran at only 2 speeds... full or off.
I remember spending a Halloween evening (probably in '83 while home from college) tearing both apart and rebuilding the walbro carbs (when you could still buy kits from DK. Got both running fairly well, then dad went and sold them for $100 the next winter.
Now I have more ambition than time for a '76 400 and what must be a home-built that by ser. num is a 79 TF 440, but is painted green with Sportfire decals, and to top if off, has a 340/S engine. Both haven't been started for probably 10years.
I'm 42 and love the green!
P.S. I remember it was Halloween cause the radio was replaying 'War of the Worlds'.
