Fire Series Tracks
I lost the tracks on both of my Trailfires (81 & 82) due to age and dry rot. One used track I put on the '82 lasted about 5 days. So, I have been looking at new tracks for my beloved 'Deeres, Dennis Kirk has new Kimpex tracks for $407.00. Heck a new track for my "new" sled ('92 Polaris Trail DLX.) is less than $300.00. I love the 'Deeres but I cannot see putting $800.00+ into them. Does any one know if any other manufacturers sleds' tracks (Polaris, Kawi, Ski Doo, Arctic Cat, etc...) will interchange with the John Deere? The track is a 15" X 115.15".

Dmac,
Looked under the FAQ section, I wrote a long disseration on JD tracks. But, to answer your question, the only track that will fit a Trailfire is a Deere track. You can install a used 80-84 Liquifire or 82-84 Sportfire track by using either LF drive spockets, (still available from Kimpex), or a used LF drive axle ass'y.
No other tracks used Deere's slide rail center distances or drive sprocket centers. Others have adapted newer tracks, but it requires totally rebuilding your rear suspension for wider centers and finding sprockets to adapt a Deere hex shaft to a 2.52" drive lug pitch.
Good luck with your sleds,
