Crap (pardon my french) Day!

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

Boy, it was one of those kind of days. Trying to get the 340/S put together and it seemed like it was one problem after another. I guess it's good that I'm trying to mock up things before finalizing them as my idea of using the Cyclone coil bracket as a heat shield does not look like it's going to work. It will interfere with the exhaust system. I installed the jackshaft and it's not running "true". Argggggggg. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. DA

It's ok to laugh at my taped notes. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer so I have to remind myself to do things before finalizing. DA

Seriously Don, are you working on this wearing sunglasses? :lol22:

Where is the shaft wobbling?

Did you add a spring to the chain tensioner? What's the deal with the unpainted steering shaft?

Love the post-it notes Don!

I can't believe you guys, this is disco Don we are talking about! He was sporting serious bling bling back in the 70's. He probably has the disco ball hanging from the garage ceiling. That's probably what inspired all the chrome on the S. :lol22:

Don, Did you check the jackshaft for true? Maybe roll it on the workbench and see if it's bent? If not it has to be that one or both of the bearings are not square in the flanges. You might try reseating the bearings in the flange and see what the shaft does.

Keep us posted!
