I been going nuts looking for the perfect Deere to restore, haven't had luck... In my journeys thought I came across a steal of a deal on a 1997 Formula 500! This machine is near perfect condition, BUT the motor needs some bottom end work. Hopefully some of you know about Skidoo, I'm probably going to need some help with this basket case! Buy the way I seen at least 10cm of snow on the ground today

Looks like I may need a complete bottom end or entire motor. If anyone knows where to get a 500 f/c ski doo motor shoot me a pm. Thx

I've spent some time today cleaning this sled up, its actually in almost new condition less the motor, I'm quite happy with it. I found a used bottom end today, ordered a gasket set so maybe next weekend I will try to get it running. The top end on this sled has been recently done so I don't feel its necessary to spend money on new pistons. I did a mach up on the motor today (it was a basket case) and very happy that everything was there, only missing 2 screws for the plastic cover on the motor..

Since this sled really isn't really what I wanted for a keeper, I think I will try to trade it for a nice clean 80 Liquifire.

should be a 503 rotax (if it is a fanner) and parts are plentiful for those. Doo started using that motor in 79 and still uses a variant of it in the 550 fan today.

Yep, its the 503 rotax motor. Going Saturday morning to pick up a used bottom end... This project should keep me distracted from my Liquifire hunt for a few weeks lol.

i have 6 80 liquifires in many conditions
i also know a guy with a 96 or 97 skiddo formula 600 tripple- nice sled+ lots of extras but has a bad crank, for about $500
