Demo wrote:It means he is trying to figure out how to contol his website. His administrator has not done him justice. It cracked me up to be called and told I was on the top five list of people not to be listened to (from the administrator) while I was recieving emails about how sorry the administrator was for everything.... I told Larry he was knee deep in it from the get go.

I don't envy Larry's position at all.
That makes a lot of sense then. I thought Larry was the Admin, but if not, that would make all this crap very difficult to deal with.

Not to stir the pot, as I still get a long with Larry and Doc, but I sent Doc back an e-mail (at his request) he supposidly sent me about a "Special Kid" that Doc doesn't remember sending. It was supposed to be from him, as an administrator, but it might not have been?! Yikes.

I generally like the VS-BS, as I have learned a lot about other brands of sleds there. It was there I found a link to the e-bay auction for my prototype Cat IFS CC racer that I ended up purchasing.

I wish Larry the best of luck keeping the BS under control and informative, with maybe a bit less behind the scene politics.

I for one am surprised that this site hasn't been flooded with VS.com BS members. I bet as this shakes out, Matt will see an uptick in traffic. It is too bad that administration of that site got out of control. That "special kid" and other situations like it are why some very important people have shyed away from posting invaluable knowledge for others to enjoy. Thankfully, Matt is wise beyond his years and has good common sense to administrate tactfully.

I wonder why Larry hasn't at least put up a small article to keep people informed about the changes his website is experiencing? I also enjoy that site and wish Larry all the best luck wrestling that anaconda. Maybe I'll just read the BS for a while (once the BS are retooled and back online), and keep my rambling to here.

Opinions are invaluable, their not worth anything! That being said, thank you Matt for a fine job,

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, we do not deal with anywhere near the traffic of the bull sessions, so it isn't so hard.

It looks like the BS users are moving to vintagesnowmobile.com or sledshack.com for now. They both have lightly used forums. I hope their admins are up for a challenge.

The administrator for VS.Com Bull Sessions has been victimized by an organized smear campaign. After apologizing and being vindicated on sensitive issues, he is still forced to shoulder a disproportional amount of blame. Muckraking on this forum is not being fair to DocJim and slanders his integrity. Passing judgement this easily without premise will likely become regrettable for the people involved.

The bull sessions are down until Doc feels that his name has been cleared of any wrong-doing in the whole Kid Sonic fiasco. CP has admitted to creating the Kid Sonic persona and he has admitted to being the one who posted most of the kid sonic posts.

When a person has done as much for the vintage sled hobby as Doc has, I don't blame him for nuking the bull sessions. Neither Doc, Larry, Swede or I had any knowledge of anyone representing Kid Sonic as being handicapped. If someone did that, it was totally without our knowledge and it was totally without class.

I have tried to reach out to Demo as he knows Doc well also. He is the last person on the planet that would allow any bogus info to be put out there regarding a purported "handicapped kid sonic." For whatever reason, there are some who feel it is important to drag Doc and Larry through the mud. Its a shame that something like this had to fracture such a small community of vintage enthusiasts.

Clack and Swede,

No one here is "muckraking" or slandering Doc, Larry or VS. I don't know of any 'orginized smear' campain against Doc, but I do know a few guys who sent him some pretty crude e-mails, but I felt Doc was owed an appology in at least one case.

They are both highly respected for their work on VS. I have exchanged several e-mails with both of them, first explaining what got under my skin about the entire KidSonic thing (lack of respect to established racers, rudeness, deception, etc) then going on about what worked well on VS. Speaking for myself, I never said anything negitive in public or private about Doc, Larry or VS, but did clearly voice my opinion in one post on KidSonic.

Doc did ask me to send back to him the note where he told me KS was special, and needed to be handled with care. It was a PM on VS from Doc's administrator account. I kindly copied that note and returned it to Doc. I don't know if he really sent it or not, but I was lead to believe KS was 'special' and not an adult messing with us. Someone wrote me that he "might be" in a wheelchair, but I long since deleted that note, so I can't prove it. I hate being so gullable.

It's too bad that Larry and Doc's runaway moderators made them look bad. I understand it was supposed to only be a joke, but it went way too far. They only found out the facts a few weeks ago, and seem to be now working out the details of how to deal with the Bull Sessions and there huge increase in popularity. Kind of victims of their own success with such high traffic. I've also heard from a few guys that left the Bull Sessions on there own accord, and undertand they each had a point.

Working with Matt on this page for nearly a decade, I understand you can't always tell someone what you really think, and having to be political about disputes. I think Matt has only ever banned one person from posting due to a combative attidute, but has nuked a few threads now and then.

I hope to see the Bull Sessions back on line soon, with Doc and Larry doing the good work of providing a forum for all vintage sled enthusiast to share thoughts and info. I also hope the B.S. on the BS is kept to a minium.

If either of you have any further comments, feel free to contact me at: joerainville@hotmail.com.
