I have been reading the past topics on spit's, I have a question about the motor and carb.
I can't take any pictures yet so I'll try to explain. It does not run at this time, I have a mikuni carb, but which one??? the numbers on the motor that I could find say 440/2A is this a Kawasaki? the heads look different then the pictures I've seen on this site, the fins are at a 45 degree angle instead of vertical is this correct? The fuel pump seems to be correct, it's rectangle but I don't know if it is working?
I don't know if the seals are bad or not, it looks like oil around the bottom of engine??
If anyone has a picture of an 80 spitfire engine and carb so I can see what it is suppose to look like that would help, and when I can take pics and figure out how to post I will.
I have manauls coming,so I do not want to touch anything yet, The pull rope broke, can I take this off without messing up anything??
How do I take the carb off and what do I clean it with and how??
As you can tell I'm new to this, so I hope someone can get me going in the right direction, hopefully I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.
