I noticed in the tech manual that it states to use a JDM-74 test unit for checking CDI and coils, etc. Will a multi-meter work in place of this? If so, what are the settings to look for.
Thanks
Jeff

Bob at Image has a Kawi tech manual which has the ignition testing for the the whole sled with both the "correct" tool and with a multimeter. Kawi and Ski-Doo also used the same tool for checking their sleds. The tool was sold through OTC, though the real manufactor has totally slipped my mind.
