Im fixing up a sprintfire for a friend and am having trouble getting it to run properly. I am familiar with kawasaki motors, but not john deere sleds. When i first got the sled it wouldnt even start, so i did the usual stuff. I checked the pickup line in the tank, replaced all fuel lines, fresh fuel, filter, vacuum line, ckecked fuel pump, cleaned the carb and replaced the plugs. After doing this it started up great every time, full choke and 2 pulls it would go. But as soon as you give it gas it just bogs and doesnt go anywhere. So knowing kawi motors i went ahead and changed both crank seals, but it still runs the same. Tried disconnecting wiring harness, and even tried changing the ignition box with another one (box is one that has cdi and coil in one). The replacement one wasnt the exact same as it was flat on one side and rounded off on the other, but it still ran the exact same. (and came off a kawi 340- but not sure if they are interchangeable??)
The motor is a 340 liquid cooled, single carb kawasaki engine, and it wont rev over 5000 rpm at any time. It starts awesome and seems like its running great but it wont even move without a push! Im out of ideas here and need some fresh ones. Thanks for any help!
