Summer Plan

Post by 79 Spitfire »

This weekend-
I am off to the hardware store to get supplies for a new workbench. This is the plan I am going by. http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2006/07/make_podcast_weekend_projects.html
Will add a few things to it to make it more personal than someone elses plan. (DONE)

Mid June to Late June-
Clean out the garage-Gonna go through the entire thing and throw out old junk we don't use anymore. Having dad buy supplies for insulation and osb sheets for the interior. Roof the thing since the shingles are terrible on it.

Mid July to Late July-
I am going to sell my rc aircraft to purchase a SRV 540 off a friend. Looking to do a complete tear down of the engine compartment. Engine new plugs, complete top end kit, clean/adjust carbs. Need to add a new hood and seat also. At my pace should take anywhere from 1 month-2months for the final time. Seems like it will keep me busy and will have an extra sled to ride if I'm wanting to do some ditch riding next winter.

Any of you have a plan for this spring/summer?

Well I think this will keep me busy throughout the summer and doing some other odd jobs that appear in the middle of these.

Jim

Sounds great Rich. I will have to get some before and after pics of our garage. And yes it will be nice to work in a warm heated garage than a drafty one haha.

Dirt floor? You don't have concrete?

Not at the farm. Just a 36 X 72 pole barn, no concrete, no heat and I have to work around the equipment parked in the shop as sleds come second. I actually froze my ears pretty bad this winter trying to get a sled ready for the next morning, hope I never do that again as they hurt all winter long when they got cold. Oh well will have heat and cement for this winter I hope.

My only problem with the dirt floors is that, when you drop small nuts or washers it is almost impossible to find them. :lol22:

Man that would be a mess working on dirt floors.

Well I got to the hardware store. Supplies were pretty cheap to make the work bench. Overall I am happy with the turnout and the great size off it.

Nice work that should last forever. I have two benches made like that and they are indestructible.
