JD learning curve

Post by jester »

Well, as I have mentioned in another post, I'm kind of new to this...sort of..I had a JD 300 in 1974, but really haven't been too up to speed on the different models that were coming and going over the years...
I realize NOW that the JD liquidator is a RARE bird to say the least..I thought I had stumbled upon one..but I was WRONG..it was just a sled with a Black hood...didn't look anywhere close enough to spot the difference.

I was searching the web for tidbits and I found the following page :

auction site

This was posted March 07, 2009....Notice Item number 33

Somebody got a good deal !!!!!!!!! :letitsnow: :sled:

If you watch the ebay auctions for a bit, you'll notice that some of them say "Liquidator" even though they have nothing to do a Liquidator, because the seller hopes it will grab attention. Based on the description and final price, I'm guessing it was actually an '82 Liquifire.

Hi Jester,

Deere built about 600 Liquidators for the 76 season. They are Deere's "money sled" as Brian Nelson won the I-500 on one, and his Enduro Team Deere teammates scored many wins and podium finishes too. Brian was 1st, Tom Otte was 3rd and Bob Enns was 4th in ICCSF points for year.

Bob Enns won 3 races on one in 77, just missing the 77 points race with Rodger Jansen and Chet Bowman of Team Arctic. The "77" Dators were rebuilt 76's with a new lite hood and aluminum suspension.

Keep looking, they are out there!
