Just so I know, How many of you need or will want Dator air boxes? Knowing that will help when talking to these people about the Air Box Boots??
By the way if anyone knows someone that works in a plant ( where we could get a deal ) that could mold these for us by all means email me with the company name so I can contact them..
Well Guy's I have heard back from one of the suppliers I contacted about repoping the M66526 Boot, Carb. ( air box to carb boots ) for the Dators.
Now by no means is this an official quote just a telephone conversation
The mold cost could be as high as $4000.00, maybe as low as $2800.00. cost per unit around $15.00 ea. Per 100 unit order.
So if we look at the worst case that would mean about $55.00 ea or $110.00 for a pair.. + shipping from the mfg.
IF we were ordering less than 100 I suspect the price will go up?? but I'm not sure?? But the Mold cost will for darn sure stay the same..
I'll Keep everyone posted as I get these quotes

NRSU ( anybody know what this stands for? ) $395.00
100 = $3.25 ea.
50-99 = $3.35 ea
25-49 = $3.45 ea
10-24 = $3.65ea
5-9 = $4.00ea
So right NOW these prices looks very good to me, once I find out if NRSU stands for some kind of set up & mold fee??
This place is right here in Kansas City so I would have some kind of control on production & quality I would think??
They also stated that we could have samples in 4-5 weeks

Todd, It looks to me after talking to the guy today that they will cost about $11.25 ea as long as we go with 50 of them, so it boils down to about $22.50 for a pair & that will do 25 air boxes..
I'm having them go ahead with a couple of samples as I doubt if we will see any cheaper + like I said the place is right here in Kansas city so I'll have somewhat of an eye on things.. Like the NOS one I'll be taking to them next week so they can see a actual product..
