Some sleds ( including the Deere's ) use a spring type clip that mounts on top of the 1/2 moon key, this clip then keeps the rotor snug on the shaft, & still allows it to have some sideways movement as the brake is applied .. If the sled has been run for many miles with a loose rotor there might be excessive wear to the Key, shaft, or rotor key way, it really should be disassembled & inspected to see if any of these are the problem..

As Kenny started some movement is necessary for proper braking but a lot of sleds with negleted maintenance have issues with the hub and shaft. If you dont fix it it will get worst and the jack shaft can break.

Yep, take it all apart. Look for worn shaft bearings, worn chain and sprockets, clutch issues, ect.
There is seldom only one thing that need attention.
