Hi! My name is Henrik and i am from Sweden.
I love John Deere sleeds,and now im going to tell you why.
When i was about 12years old i loved snomobiles more than ever,my father owned a Yamaha sm340 that i ride the most of the time.
One night i was with my friends in a little village playing when one of my friends suggested that we should take a look at the workshop nearby and see if anyone was there(lots of older boys were there with their toys).
We got there and one guy was there,he had a cruel looking snowmobile,totaly black with decals "Liquifire".
I was stunned! That was the most beautiful sled i ve seen.10 minutes later the guy asked me if i wanted a ride,YES i said and that was the first time ive been on a JD.

Now 21years later i own 5 JD,But ive still havent found what am looking for(U2?)a 1980 Liquifire is my dream because that was my first encounter with JD.

I have 2 children a daughter 6 years old and a son 10months old and they both LOVE snowmobiles :)
Thats a little about me Have Snowy winter everyone!

I guess I am living your dream, as I have 2 80 Liquifires, one running and one that needs some work. My brother has a 81 Liquifire, and we both have Trailfires also, a 79 and a 80. Did it look something like this one?

The cut windshield would look more sporting. This is the only windshield available for the Liquifires, anything else would probably be modified or not available style. May have to buy another windscreen and darken it for the custom look.

Go to Kawasakitrax.com forums and ask them. Trucker, the board host and also a member here, and others there may be able to help you with the clutch identification.

Henrik,
Great story about your first Deere moment! I still remember my first ride on the back of a big old Polaris snowmobile in about 1967. The next winter I got to drive a 15 hp ski-doo and I have been hooked forever!

I am not in the export-import business but a few years ago a neighbor sold a 1/3 scale working Case Steam engine to a historical club in Belgium. It was delivered to the Great Lakes port at Duluth MN and put in a sea-can with spare parts and off it went. A Liquifire from USA or Canada should be much easier!

Yes,i have twist throttle on my 80 Trailfire to,really fun to drive with that i think.I kicked some Polaris Fusion as with my 80 Trailfire,on a closed parkinglot i have set up a small ovaltrack and my friend with the Polaris thought he could easily win.
But the JD just slided perfect trough the corners and the Polaris couldnt keep up,you can not slide with such a new machine.After two glorious laps my chain exploaded,my friend couldnt belive it,he had 140hp and i 42:). Now my friend have bought a vintage sled for this winter :beers;
