Merc sno twister fuel

what is the requirement for octane for a 74 sno twister? it has the 400 kohler freeair engine.

Hello. Just built a 76 Merc. Sno-Twister 250 and this sled doesn,t like anything but HIGH octane, or aircraft fuel to be a real performer. So in your case, the highest octane you can get at the pumps!!!! Hope this answers your question...Rob.
