There was a service bulletin on those back in the day.We changed ALOT of them over.The main jet and pilot jet were both replaced with smaller ones..If I remember right the main was huge like 400 and the pilot was?? I would have to do some digging in my notes but I think we put in a 300 main and 25??...

Sounds like they maybe used the later style stator assy in it but used the old flywheel.?? I had this happen before back in the day at the shop..Good spark, sometimes?? would start good and idle perfect all day but give it some throttle and it would fall on its face, sometimes you would pull your ar...

If your jet needles are both in the same groove then swap the carbs around and see if the plug fouling follows the carb..The PTO carb on my dater is different than the flywheel side..had the same problems as you are..It wasent until I installed the EGT guages that I found the problem..Both burn nice...

Is anybody reproducing the rubber seal that goes over the filler neck of the 340/s fuel tank..Deere # M65807.I thought I was over the ""GREEN"" sickness...I was wrong!! :bonk: Just picked up a very nice 340/s and this is all it's missing..I would even purchase a junky one if some...

The OEM ski's were part number AM55307 and back in the day Deere listed them as Ski Welded SWEDISH......I don't remember if we found out about them through service bulletins or if the Consumer Product person told us about them..I do remember ordering a couple sets for myself and I think it was aroun...

The earlier Series II fire sleds had a thin hard plastic pod with decal that broke very easily in the corners. I think in 82 they went to a thicker more hard rubber like material with the logo formed in...Not positive what year this was changed though..earlier plastic ones were like 1/8 thick later ...

Horicon plate was like the one on first page picture # 4.."might even be the sled??" It just doesn't get any better than this!!!!!! WOW!!! The guys that built them and tested them are ONLINE telling us about them..Mark..

Joe, what I remember on the one I had that sticks out is.. It looked like a 78 l-fire.The serial # location was wrong,The numbers stamped were not of the 78 year series, Hood was faded black/gray "never had clear coat" Tag on motor base plate said PROPERTY OF HORICON wish I would have take...

Does anybody know were Mike Hudziak "spelling" is.?? If so ask him if this was one of the sleds that he purchased from Mark in SW, Minnesota in 1999- 2000..He came down with his pickup first to pickup a NOS 78 CC in parts along with different engines etc etc.Then he sent a semi down to pic...
