Cyclone clutch distance
Could someone tell me what the center to center distance should be for the clutches on a '76 340 Cyclone? I forgot to measure mine before working on it.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Engineered Graphics
I just spoke to Frank yesterday. He is not out of the decal business. He has parted company with the vintagesledders web site but that's all. He is quite disgusted how things turned out with that venture but I won't go into any details on that as that is not for me to publicize. Frank is a very, ver...

Re: KwikTrip gas 89oct -no ethanol vs. 91 w/10%???
Our local Kwik-Trip has one special pump for the 91 octane 'recreational use' without that nasty ethanol. We also have a Shell station that advertises ethanol free premium.

Re: Spark Plugs 76 cyclone 340
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ride ANY sled on a trail close to someones' home, a non-resistor plug can/will interfere with television reception, This makes some homeowners/landowners very unhappy. Snowmobile clubs don't need any more friction or trail closures.

Re: Cyclone crank seals & cdi ???
Thanks for the help with the parts info guys. Just to clarify; in the past when I contacted MFG, I was not seeking tech info. I filled out their parts request for availability of a couple of complete engines I was searching for (which I was told by another vintage collector that they had in stock). ...

Cyclone crank seals & cdi ???
Are both crank seals the same part number on the '76 340 Cyclone? Where is a good source for replacement seals? Noticed in another thread that someone mentioned mfgsuppply for some other parts. In the distant & recent past I have sent e-mails to this company searching for items and never receive...

340 Cyclone ignition issues
I have a very low mileage '76 340 Cyclone that I am trying to get running. It only runs on one cylinder (pto side). When idling on the one cylinder, the rpm's will sometimes surge/pulsate. Checked compression and it's strong/similar on both cylinders. When I rest the plugs on top of the cylinders an...

Same engines?
I recently read elsewhere that the dual plug motor used in the Liquifier is the same engine that Kawasaki put in the LTD's. Does anyone know if that's true? The reason I ask is that I not only own John Deere but other brands as well and I need parts for a water pump for my '80 LTD with the 4/6 motor...

Mikuni fuel pump question
Looking to put a kit in my fuel pump on my '76 340 Cyclone. Is this just a run of the mill rebuild kit for the round Mikuni or is there a special part number I should be looking for?

JD sweater
I just acquired an excellent condition old John Deere sweater. When I first saw it I thought it was a Ski-Doo sweater. It's black with a yellow horizontal stripe that goes around the body and also carries over to go around the arms. I looked at the label and sure enough, It says "John Deere&quo...

Re: Need pic of Cyclone fuel lines
I did notice that the factory brochure picture on David's Vintage Sled site shows a '76 Cyclone with a chrome bumper/passenger handle but mine has the two (broken) plastic passenger handles. Did they come out with the chrome later? What's the scoop on that?
