WTB ‘78 Liquifire 340 and Dator
Looking for some riders for ERX for some people. Dator-Something fairly complete and drivable. Obviously, beggars can’t be choosers when it comes to options. ‘78 340 LF-Drivable for the 40-mile I-500 final leg at ERX. If someone has Steve Sherwood’s race sled, that would be preferred. Would p...

Saved Another One
As I have developed my friendship with Al Garin, he started telling me more about this buddy of his with a 295/S in his barn. From the sounds of it, the guy just wanted it to have it to have it and it was in pretty rough shape. I have been hunting for a motor, pipe, air box and carbs for my spare 29...

Re: 1984 Trailfire cylinders
The F202 uses copper rings instead of paper/steel gaskets. The F202 also has a little extra go fast.

Re: 1984 Trailfire cylinders
I would personally send them out to Millenium or US Chrome and have them replated with nicasil. Wiseco will sell your pistons with nicasil rings. I think all said and done, I’m into my ‘83 motor $700 with gaskets. I haven’t fired it yet but I’m pretty excited to start showing it again this summer an...

Re: Dual Carb/CDI JDX Sleds
Guys, I'm glad to hear you have mid-mount fever too. I've had restored and original fire series, S chassis LFs and cyclones and for some reason, mid-mounts never did it for me. Now they seem to be my only interest. I have an 80 LF ready to assemble. I've done 4 of them and just don't feel like anoth...

Racing, A New Concept
We have a few years of USXC Vintage under our belts. Something that I've noticed in recent years is the number of Deeres that have found their way into drag racing and oval racing. 2 years ago, I found myself with a pile of mid-mount parts and sleds and nothing to do with them. The original intent w...

Dual Carb/CDI JDX Sleds
As we go down the trail, parts sources tend to dry up and technology updates seem to make their way to the mid-mount sleds. After several years of contemplating, I decided to build a "what should have been" 1973 JDX8. I've always parted or given away mid-mount sleds because they didn't int...

Aluminum Idler Rebuilding
If you need aluminum Centered idlers rebuilt, I can do that. I can do any bogies or idlers from any JD model. The rivets will not be quite as perfect as the originals because I had to make my own arbor. The will have a small amount of mark off. A modern bearing is well worth it. Core and quantity di...

Attention Aitkin Residents! Contacts Needed For Project!
I picked up a '75 JDX-4 this past spring. It was an old Aitkin Sno-Drifters Sheriff Patrol machine. It sat in the middle of an open field since it was abandoned in 1984. I dug it out of the ground and took it home. After a bath and detail, I discovered that the motor will run on spray and sounds hea...

Re: Mineral Or Synthetic Oil?
That's always been my stance. I run Klotz in absolutely everything including the Kombi trimmer. I've never had problems. The guy at the dealership really got me thinking. It is hard to sway my opinion on most things involving snowmobiles because I've been around them my whole life and have more usel...

Mineral Or Synthetic Oil?
As most Klotz customer do, I use it in everything I own. I got into a conversation at a local shop when buying parts and it lead to me purchasing mineral oil with a feline logo on it. Some Deere tech manuals indicate that a tank of mineral oil needs to be run once in a while to "clean up" ...
