Re: Another 121 track swap,82 trailfire
That's what I figured for the shafts. I'm drilling the back four rivets out as we speak and see how everything lines up. Most likely move those drivers again. Still might have to shave inside of the end caps off or take them out. We'll see how it looks. Maybe pictures tomorrow.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Another 121 track swap,82 trailfire
Hey guys, I'm at the final steps of my track swap and I'm running into some issues that others have had. My rails go too far up and are way too close to my drivers. Right now its nice because my skid fits perfect into the stock holes. I suppose one option would be to drill new holes further back but...

Re: 1981 Liquifire
No it just randomly popped up on my facebook of all things and figured it had to be one of the users on here but I didn't see it in the classifieds. I have to finish my other two JD projects before I buy another one!

Re: 82 trailfire 340 121" Rubber track swap
Thanks for the help so far. I ordered a new shaft and clutch puller from new breed. I also went to the local doo dealer and we looked up some drivers and ordered a pair. They might be backordered but if they work I'll have to let you know. $25 a piece new.

Re: 82 trailfire 340 121" Rubber track swap
Thanks Mark! I really appreciate the reply, just another confidence boost. Were you able to mount it in your original rear mount? And is that the location of the shaft we keep talking about that we keep from the original, the shaft of mine that has two broken bolts in it lol.

Re: 82 trailfire 340 121" Rubber track swap
Update: My driveshaft actually measured to be 1.150 inches, but it is really rusted. Hopefully I can still squeeze drivers on there. Bottom sprocket is 35T, Top is 17T, and a 31 link chain along with 6" drivers. So I am already siting at a 35t:17t = 2.05:1 gear ratio. Now if I put 7" drive...

82 trailfire 340 121" Rubber track swap
Hello Deere Masters, I am finally starting a project I said I was going to do years ago. I have studied what wycrumb did in his "121" Track on a Sportfire" thread and want to attempt it on mine. So far I got the skid out (snapped both back mounting bolts), and got the drive shaft out ...

Re: JD to AC rubber track conversion ???
I see, I was wondering if a person could modify the skid if he was desperate or had problems. I haven't had my skid out yet but maybe over vacation next week. See how crazy a person gets over this brown Christmas.

Re: JD to AC rubber track conversion ???
Okay thanks guys. I found the thread finally that lists all the AC drop in tracks. Just took a little more digging. Here it is, nobody disagreed with him so I'm going with it. It was posted in "Suspension and Track Swap for 77 Liquifire." "I know that it has been a while since anyone ...
