just as an update for everyone (and incase anyone uses this for reference later) my problem was the stator.... it was my own fault earlier in the year I tried to put the guts off a recoil from a yamaha enticer (I was frustrated with the JD one) it does not fit properly (no clearance) but it gives th...

So....out on the lake running the liquifire (trying to chase a bad ground as the lights were flickering) and I go WOT for about 600 feet and it was hesitating a bit around 6-7k then it went to redline around 8k screamed along and than it was like I hit the kill switch and she rolled to a stop withou...

Has anyone else had problems with setting up their recoil guts? Ok...
I put a new coil on it and just got back from a 15 mile run and it ran well the whole time, so hopefully that solves it.
I really appreciate all of your input and help!

The clutch issue...yup maybe...
But if I got a backfire when I was holding it to the bar doesn't that mean too much fuel?
temp gauge was at the bottom (and it works) so I don't think it was too hot?

Ok....I can't find a forum that describes all my circumstances 1980 Liquifire when its colder (like first 10 - 15 minutes) of running it runs fine in the top end it pulls @ 8200 no prob when the sled warms up (like 10 miles into ride) it wont rev when I give WOT it will got to a little over 7000 and...

Could also be jackshaft bearings that was one of my problems when my liquifire was acting similar......
