Re: Fan Belt Deflection
Thanks for the information, I will add the shims.JDT wrote:You will have to add one or more shims to get a deflection of 1/4-1/2".
Running the belt too tight will shorten belt and bearing life.

Fan Belt Deflection
Does anyone know if there is a specification for deflection on the fan belt. I put a new one on with the some shim configuration as the old one and it is super tight.
Thanks

Matt,
Do you know what the original JD track's window to window distance was on that sled by chance...just for comparison.
Thanks

Re: PPG Paint Code
Ok, so I bought some Case/IH silver/ardent paint from my local Case dealer because I couldn't cross reference the Case Paint to a PPG. However, my buddy at shop that is going to spray the frame and hood for me states that this paint will not accept a clear coat. So I am back to square one! I have so...

Re: Leaf Springs
Yeah, It is a local Voyager Trailer Manafacturer. They have a couple different booths that they do the powder coating in for the trailers and associated parts. The biggest one is 40'. Just a tad bigger than your buddy's Kitchen Aid I imagine. Lol

The guy that is doing the powder coating for me states the oven would be way to hot and will melt all rubber parts.

Trying to figure out how to get the rubber bump stops out of the front springs without have to cut the bracket off and reweld it back on. I want to get the springs powder coated, but cant do it with the bump stops in. Am I missing something on how to get these things out without cutting and welding?...

Re: Spitfire Primary Clucth question
I recently had the same problem. Did you soak it with WD-40 or something similiar first? I had that puller so tight that I couldn't budge it any more. I left the puller on it real tight and tapped on it with a rubber mallet every now and then and it eventually it popped off. It took a few days thoug...
