I also have a 1980 spitfire that I need to get rid of, alot of good parts, it has a 440 kaw motor in it does not run.

Looking to get rid of both sleds, in good shape, both ran last year could not get started this winter, need tlc.
Would like to get $300 each.

what is the best carb cleaner to use? Will I have to take the float bowl apart to clean?

I picked up the 2 TF 340 on Friday. One starts up on first pull, the other needs starter fluid sprayed in, then it fires up. What causes this problem? Does it need adjusting or cleaning? I have an oppurtunity to pick up 2 running trailfires for $600, is there anything that I need to look for mechanically?? They need some cosmetic work, ie paint is flaking, windshield.

My first sled was an 1980 spitire, my dad bought 2 brand new ones! We had them all through highschool. I wish we still had them, he sold them in Hudson Iowa.
