Installing decals
Sorry for returnig to this... never installed any decals. These are for a hood. The decals seem to have a plastic (solid) backing which will peel away fairly easily. this leaves, however, what I presume is the back of the decal (only moderately tacky - BTW) but is still not "clear". Is the...

Todd connected me to mcmaster and I got what I needed .. there is wide variety of materials but the dimensions of some of the materials does limited selection. Search the foru...

good year for snow in New England
GReat pics... I can attest that we've gotten a lot o f snow in Mass (on par to be the second snowiest in history). Breaking new trails recently was a bit of a grind. No sure flame if you are a NH residnet or not. NH has a lifetime registration for antique sleds (over 25 years old) only avaible to NH...

Installing decals
Thank you Robb,
Again these are the smaller hood decals (the ones that say "sprintfire").
I thought I remember reading using isopropyl alcohol... but from your post I gather they are peel and stick?
Thanks again.
Dan

Installing decals
Anything I should know to make this easier... do they require any pre-wetting??
Found some old post (re: complete set of sprintfire decals for sale)
I still coud use right side tunnel and left and right side hood decals.
Thanks
Dan

HI Aaron, I am moderately interested ... while I am in Mass, i have in-laws in the Downingtown, PA area.. how far are you from that area? I checked the former description on ebay.. does the odometer work (I don't recall seeing how may miles are on it)... and you think it would "Run" right ...

Air bubbles in fuel line
When idling/adjusting my Sprint, I notice that the gas mixture being delivered to the carb contained significant amount of air (at least at idle). When running it is never "starved" for gas that I know about, but wondering if that is common (that the gas is pumped to the carb along with a ...

track adjustment
Thanks JDT & Matt.. JDT to you point.. I think what you were implying is that it could be as much about tightening one side as it is about loosening the other...good to keep in mind.. I think the knee jerk reaction is to "always tighten" where it could be that one side is just too tigh...

How about the Sprintfire...?
IT worked out great... I posted a few pics previously (all in the the shop) since then I had my inaugral (sp?) trip to the lakes in NH (4 trip sto NH, 4 different deeres) and it was great. Probaly put on about 30 - 40 miles... still awaitng speedo cable, but that is a good guess. Had it up near 50 (...

Sloppy Skis - A solution
HI TOdd..
Maybe a mix up?. The nylon bushing I installed on bottom are flanged as are my "back up" set made from bronze.
The steel being proposed/considered would be in place of the two 1-inch bronze "pivot" bushing that holds the ski on.
Thanks again for you help!

Sloppy Skis - A solution
JUst to close the book on this... I installed all the parts (bushings). I think it worked fine. I elected to go with the Nylon flanged bushing on the bottom (these are the ones that come 5 per pack for like $7) where before I had none! They are 1 1/4 inch long but had no problems inserting. As a bac...

Re-affixing the storage well pad
Kind off a minor (dumb???) question...
Any suggestions for affixing the rubber/foam pad back to the tunnel on a SPrintfire (the pad that goes on the bottom of the glove/tool compartment).
What adheres best to aluminum?
Thanks.
Dan

Sloppy Skis - A solution
Thought I'd start a new post (same topic). Just to review.. I had over 3 inches of free play at the end of both my skis and the sled (a Sprint) was steering very unpredictably (severe darting). There was some wear on the bolts, saddle holes and pivot bushing (but mostly the pivot bushing). New 3/8 b...
