Identify this part please!
So in my random JD parts bucket I have a few of these plastic pieces. There are no part numbers on them. They look like a chain tensioner of some sort to me, but not like any I remember on my JDs. Any ideas what these fit? https://photos.smugmug.com/Snowmobiles/Part-Sales/i-trX464x/0/d61dc18e/XL/202...

Comet 100/102 Clutch Weights
I ended up with a ton of Comet clutch weights and kits, both Deere and Comet branded. I will certainly never use all of this stock! The kits are compete with pins and such but I also have a number of independent weights that clean up nicely. If you are looking for specific weights please let me know...

Still have them, price dropped to $1000. Who wouldn't want an 84' LF?

84' Liquifire and 84' Snowfire for sale
Luck waxes and wanes it seems.... We are selling our house and I'd like to downsize the sled collection if possible. My 1984 Liquifire and Snowfire are up for sale with that goal in mind. Liquifire (#80 of 420): Runs on a squirt of premix, stored inside. Great restoration candidate, or just cl...

Re: The shame!!! Home on a hook
We used a towbar setup that specifically maintains the distance between the ski loops, that way the steering doesn't get bent up and the sled tracks well. The nice thing about a towbar is the following sled doesn't have the opportunity to hit the tow machine. I guess I didn't get any towing pictures...

The shame!!! Home on a hook
Went on the annual PNWVSC ride to the Whistlin' Jack Lodge this past weekend. We make the 70 mile ride through the Cascades from the Ellensburg area to Naches, spend the night at the lodge, and ride back the next day. I brought a friend this year and he was on my 80' Liquifire, which has made the tr...

Re: Lady Luck smiles again!! 84' Liquifire
Sure looks clean. Hood is missing the Liquifire decals on the sides above the stripe that's not in the correct place. Repaint? What's the bracing feature next to the VIN? Broken tunnel? Hang that NOS hood on a wall somewhere! Hood was messed up by a friend when the previous owner loaned the sled ou...

Lady Luck smiles again!! 84' Liquifire
I have way too many sleds (all stored inside), but a month or so back a gentleman at the WSSA Powersports EXPO mentioned that he had an 84 Liquifire he wanted to sell along with some other random JD parts. We finally got our schedules lined up and I headed south towards Oregon to see what he had. :p...

Re: Idler wheel update
C3 indicates the radial clearance group of the bearing. C3 & C4 are looser than a "normal" bearing.

Re: 84' Snowfire
Definitely worth saving. I have a NOS engine, hood and belly pan for it if you're interested. Also a good used seat or freshly recovered one. Let me know. -Matt Cappel 815 762 6868 I love the internet! Here I am with a low build # sled thinking it's going to take years to accrue the parts for a pro...
