anyone covert there WD to a Makuni
I just finish converting a 77 300 to a mikuni, i used a carb off a mid 80's ski-doo safari 377, the flange has the same spacing for the bolts as well, the holes just need to be drill slightly larger, it does run slightly rich but not bad, will foul a plug once in a while if it idles for a while but ...

hey, i've got the carb almost all on, just need a throttle cable and some gas line when i get the time. the carb i have came off of a Safari 377 and it has a 230 main jet and i cant remember what the pilot jet was. and for the mounting flange i found one off of an Everest 440 and all i needed to do ...

hey, no i havnt tried the mikuni yet. as for the other things, i have machined a mounting flange out of aluminum and going to use a rubber hose to attatch the carb. im not going to drill any holes in the sled until i can make it run that way i can go back to the walbro and keep in original. im just ...

hey, thanks guys, 400brian, im assuming you ment have i tried running it with the original walbro not the mikuni, i have and it did run fine. but the diaphrams in that are junk now and i had the mikuni so i figured i'd try that, also the mikuni would be easier to maintain than the walbro. afponiky, ...

hey, im in the process of switching my 300 over from the original WDB-31 walbro to a 34 mm Mikuni. i just wanted to get your views in this if you thought it was a good or a bad idea. the throttle lever needs to be moved out on the bar to work with a Mikuni right?? My 600 is a '74 and that has the short pad and the 300 is a '77 and has the pad that extends all the way to the dash, i think that this was one of the changes that took place with the new 1975 model styling.

I wouldnt mess with trying to take the ring gear off, the flywheel is balanced and im not positive but i think it is balanced WITH the ring gear ON, taking the ring gear off could throw your flywheel off balance.
