Re: Trailfire help!!

Yeah I have heavy duty foam blocks I can get from work, I should be able to cut a circle a little larger than the airbox hole cut a groove around the circumference so it'll lock in the airbox hole, then cut the inside to whatever size I need for the hose, I'm gonna give it a try.

Re: Piston Help

I just got done installing these 09-688 pistons in my 1980 trailfire 440, they are identical to OEM minus slightly thicker rings on the aftermarket just did my first startup today and she runs like a Deere so I'd advise going with these for the trailfire. Thanks

Re: 440 trailfire pistons

I haven't got it completely together to do a compression check yet but part number 09-688 is almost identical to the oem piston off my 80' trailfire, the only difference between the two is that the aftermarket piston's rings are slightly thicker than the OEM which shouldn't make a difference except ...

Yeah the locating pins are on the same side the smaller skirt. I'm willing to bet it's right , I don't think I'm gonna try this piston I have, I think I 'm gonna order a 09-688 and try it out.
