Is there a serial number list out there somewhere that shows if a sled was raced or not? I saved a 340/S from the scrap yard and was wondering if there was any way of telling if it was raced or not.

What are you asking for the piston?

I am looking for a good used mag side piston for a 340/5 out of a 74 400.

Does anyone have info on what slider bushings work for the pre 1976 sleds. Book says after all models 1976 and up take the same but mine is a 1973 400.

By the looks of the stripes on the hood that is an 1981. If it says 80 on the sticker that means its an 81. What ever year it says on the tag go up one year. Sleds were built the year before they were sold.

You think you guys have a problem. Yesterday I was putting sleds in one of my new sheds and I quit counting at 54. Thats not including the 12 or so in the boneyard and the 5 I bought last month that I haven't picked up yet.

I have one complete running one. A guy 40 miles north of me has one but missing engine. 2 in the Regina area both are running. None of these guys are members here.

You are right Brian never a deal until you have it in your hands. I had 2 deals this weekend one was the 340S another is for a non sled related item that I am picking up Sunday. It is in a salvage yard that is out of the way and no one really knows about it so I should be OK.
