Re: seat foam restoration
I was in same situation as you with a spitfire seat. The old seat was still intact, but unusable. I got some maple for the wood base and copied template from original. I then got some sheets of high density foam from Jo Ann fabrics. Stuff in expensive, like anything these days. I cut and glued sheet...

Re: 1981 Spitfire Ignition
Just wondering if u got spitfire going? I did google search and found guy in UK had said to buy new cdi and coil for John Deere trail fire 340. Said all plugs are the same only thing was had to find different spot to mount cdi? I’ve been trying to find different alternatives as well without much luck.

spitfire ignition

Would the stator/flywheel need to be changed as well? Just trying to come up with other options for ...

seat restorations
I am going to try my hand at custom building spitfire seat from scratch. On original seat, there is an opening in foam at front. When looking in, I can see a piece of styrafoam between upper/lower layers of foam. Can anyone say if other seats were like this or is this something that has been added o...

need experts advice on tb340A piston/rings. I picked up some nos 13001-3014 pistons and also saw 13001-3008 numbers for 340 application as well. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? also, does anyone know the ring part number that would correspond with the 3014 pistons? thank you all.

Dustin, would you have any spitfire seat that is in very good condition? Probably would recover, but would like foam and wood strips to be very good/excellent.

spitfire
I am restoring spitfire, skis/springs pretty rusted and pitted. I could sandblast, but still would not have great end result. What options are out there for these sleds? Should I try and go aftermarket or stick with what I have? Advise appreciated.
