Some video of the Snowfire/still tweaking

That was only like 16ga so it was pretty easy to hand bend around a chunk of tubing and form. Here's my "day" job. so it's nice to work with the thinner stuff once in awhile.

Some video of the Snowfire/still tweaking

Nice sound. Is that just a cherry bomb turbo welded on there. Sure looks like the same one all the honduhs around here use. It's a Sparko Turbo deluxe. :D one I made up quick with some fiberglass packing I had laying around. Would have liked to have made it bigger, just ran out of time and pa...

Some video of the Snowfire/still tweaking

Oh and here's a pic of the modified stock exhaust, think I'm going to pick up some expansion chambers off some junk sleds and modify them rather than start from scratch. I understand the tweaking involved with it, that's half the fun for me though is learning! Attachments: Img_1720.jpg (91.66 KB) Im...

Some video of the Snowfire/still tweaking

My daughter and I were out playing in the snow today so we took some quick video. Still working on getting the right jetting and experimenting with exhausts. First one is stock exhaust, 34mm carb running a 190 main/ 30 pilot, air screw is about 1/2 turn out. Snowfire video 1 Having a spare exhaust I...

Weak impulse the problem?

Basically the fuel system is all new/replaced. First thing I did when I got the sled was pull the tank, clean it out, all new lines and cleaned the carb, installed a new needle and seat. The pickup is sitting on the bottom, has one of those strainer/check valves on it. Going to mess with it after Xm...

Weak impulse the problem?

That is really making me :wall: :wall: :wall: , all new lines, new check valve in the tank, so even if the impulse was a little weak it should never "fall back". Always possible the check valve was bad from the start. I'll check that, the pump and also the impulse fitting on the engine for...

Weak impulse the problem?

83 Sportfire that is possessed. 130's comp on both cylinders, the other day it started up beautifully, ran great all day, started right up without much issue other than a couple times I had to feather the throttle to keep it running for a second. Ran it hard to check my jetting and both plugs are sa...

plastic welding a tank

I used to weld plastic auto interior pieces back together or fill holes that a previous owner drilled as part of a custom audio installation business. They actually make a "kit" but personally I thought it sucked for the money it cost and always used a soldering iron. Pretty much the same ...

Think I'm going to fry my Snowfire?

Never even thought of that, the expense of one is probably why. That's just not in the budget at the moment (Christmas), and yeah I know it's cheaper than a complete rebuild but more than likely I'll be doing that in the summer anyways. :D So running a 180 now and getting a tan color, going pig rich...

Think I'm going to fry my Snowfire?

Today was pretty typical, 20's, I never go out when it's in the single digits since my daughter is on her sled. I've gotta order some other stuff so I'll add a 185 and 190 main to that, probably a 195 to boot since it's never a bad idea to have extras for other sleds.

Think I'm going to fry my Snowfire?

I've been struggling to get this thing running decent, the clutch is completely rebuilt, we really took our time with the fuel system, tank was spotless, new lines, pump, carb cleaned with new pilot and main, needle/seat..... and still it wouldn't run right. Set everything at factory specs, fresh se...

80 spitfire

Engine is a 340 Kawasaki, first year for that motor in the Spitfires. As far as the recoil, search and you should find your answer. Lots of excellent information on here, just gotta do some reading. :beers;

Registration Questions

Laws vary from state to state so call the courthouse or local depart of natural resources and they'll get you started. You might even find you can get all the info and forms you need online. I know here in Iowa for the two older sleds I have, I need to submit the numbers off of them to the courthous...

State of the Economy

It's actually not quite that misleading, these lower gas prices haven't been around long enough for us to see it have an effect on other products. Grocery stores don't operate on a very high profit margin so it will take awhile for the prices increases that were associated with the higher transporta...

I'm an idiot and starting question?

AFter I rebuilt the duster clutch on the Snowfire, rejet the carb's mainjet for 180 due to slight exhaust and lack of airbox... took it out for a spin and it ran excellent! Excellent throttle response, plenty of power throughout the entire range. Ran it hard, checked the plugs to be sure and they we...
