Re: 74 lynx Single
Man, I don't know Todd. I would think if it was heat related it would have to cool down before it would refire and it doesn't need too. Plug looks good but maybe I'll plunk a new one in and see what happens. I just rebuilt/cleaned the carb, new lines new filters. I'm at a loss, maybe a complete rebu...

74 lynx Single
Long time but finally getting back into things. I have an issue with a lynx 295 single, walbro carb. Starts a little rough but once warm runs great for about 30 minutes and then starts to bog out. Engine will die but it will restart and run strong again for awhile but bog sooner. I'm at a loss on th...

Balls Beater Run
Maybe it has been posted but maybe not.... The Balls Beater Run is one week from Saturday in Lena, WI. Great time, great cause, for a great guy. Will be making the 700 plus mile trip to participate again this year. Anybody in the area should make it a point to swing by, some great John Deere sleds a...

Re: 80 liquifire losing spark
Had the same problem with a cat... unplug everything and clean the connection points to no end. Also make sure your grounds are clean at all points, and of course make sure all the wires are good!!

1975 Johnson
It's a lot nicer than most of the stuff I bring home. I'm thinking it will be a fun sled once it's rebuilt. I'll post some pictures when it's done. Hoping by this fall but got a couple of projects ahead of it.

KWC, yours is in a lot better shape then the one I picked up. Mine is in good shape for the "piles" I usually bring home though. Should be a fun one for me. Trying to upload a picture here but have never done it so hopefully it works. T-Bone Attachments: IMG_2515.jpg (1.09 MB)

Thanks for the info, I'm excited to hear this beast run. Curious as to how it is going to sound. I'll go and check out the other sites mentioned and see what I can learn. Might be awhile before I can start on the Johnson as the wife and I are adding a third crumb muncher to the flock tomorrow and fr...

JDT, I think I'll keep it around for awhile at least. I'll let you know when I get sick of beating my head against the thing. Some of the info I've read said you can use any good quality 2-stroke oil in the machine but the previous owner says the only oil to use is the rotary combustion oil??!!? I w...

Finally got the Johnson and Trailer it was sitting on home. :beers; I'm ready to start looking at it while I finish up the 300. They are both due for a ground up resto once the weather warms a bit more. The Johnson is complete, minus the windshield and the engine is loose, wierd little spark plug on...

Absolutely any information is greatly appreciated. It's a 1975 Johnson Rotary Powered 45. Pretty good shape for sitting behind a shed for 22 years. Needs a wash and a little bit of a paint job but is complete and the engine is free. I'm probably going to pick it up regardless but I'm having a hell o...

This is a buddies sled and he cleaned the carb. I'll take it apart when I get a chance and clean it up again. Compression is good, tank is decent. Thought it was wierd that the tank was welded to the tunnel. Maybe I'm just too new to the game. Any idea where a guy can find a tillotson rebuild kit?? ...

Runs good for a bit and then tries to die out. Fouls a plug occasionally but you can work the throttle when it is about to die and it will stay running and keep going but if you let it die it starts hard, like it is flooding out. Everything on the tilly seems right and it's sucking fuel good. First ...
