Guys I am looking for an 81 Trailfire for a friend. He is very specific that it is an 81 and is in pristine or restored condition. Anything out there?

Re: MAX11135M3 Belts Status
This is not a new belt. It is made on the same tooling that the OEM Deere belts came from, and the batch that Polaris made in 1985, and the belts I had made a few years ago. Myself and many others from this site used these belts with great success. You have an issue with the tuning of your sled. Don...

Re: THANK YOU PETER DUNCANSON
While I appreciate the pat on the back, it is very important to actually purchase these Ultimax belts. They, not me have invested in this project. They did it on the basis of info they got from me, Don and other members. They also monitored this site to determine if there was enough demand for them ...

Re: 80-84 Liquifire engine vibrations
Pull the clutch off, rotate it 180 degrees and reinstall it. If the vibration doesn't change it is probably the clutch. If it changes for better or worse I, it is probably a crank issue. That is how I start to figure out vibrations.

Re: 80 Liquifire
By the logic proposed here, a Hemi Cuda convertible should sell for about $35000 based on what it cost in 1970.

Re: 80 Liquifire
$3500? Worth every penny. The rising prices of a collectable always pisses off the long term enthusiasts. Reality is that you couldn't restore one properly for that and this is an original.

Re: More 1980 Spitfire problems... Bogging, won't run when hot
Squirt some gas in the carb when it bogs. That will tell the tale. The reason they will run until they warm up with a bad seal is...... the cold seal kind of holds it shape. Once it heats up and becomes pliable it does not.

Re: More 1980 Spitfire problems... Bogging, won't run when hot
Normally a bog after it warms up is either a crank seal or coil. You changed the coil. Spray some ether behind the clutch and around the case halves and intake areas.

All "B" arms should weigh the same. The difference between a B and B-1 is the replaceable bushing in the B-1

The Comet "N" weight works well on a stock Liquifire with the original rear clutch set up.

Re: 83 Sprintfire bog
Normally a engagement bog is caused by a lean spot in the carburation. It could be a broken or worn out secondary spring also. Does the bog go away with the track off the ground? Try a shot of gas in the carb when it is bogging.

Re: K&N Filters on an 80 Liquifire.
The power jet carbs are not very happy without the airbox. If you do use K&N's the SN2530 will work. The steering column is tight but they will work.

Re: 80 Liquifire Windshield
Yes. As far as I am concerned, it is the only style that should be on a 80-84 Liquifire, When the Deere sled parts re-surfaced in the mid-nineties the Sport windshields were missing. The aftermarket, for reasons that I am not aware of never manufactured them. (except for the ones Cannon made)
