Liquifire Ignition question
I have a 1981 liquifire, that has the 1982-1984 ignition CDI box on it. The aluminum housing on the motor was not changed so it does not fit on correctly. Would whoever converted this to the newer box had to also change the pulsator or lighting coil? I only ask if it goes bad, I cannot seem to find ...

Re: Liquifire Running rich at idle and mid range
thanks for asking, I measured and set them per the spec in the book. Then when it started flooding on low side, I backed the chokes off so they are loose where cable attaches when the choke is disengaged.

Liquifire Running rich at idle and mid range
I have a 1980 and a 1982 liquifire that both seem to run rich at idle and mid range after they run for a while. If I hold it wide open it clears up, but occasionally they load up and stop. I have two questions, does it matter what kind of oil you use synthetic vs standard? I have been using syntheti...

Re: Liquifire: 80-81 VS. 82-84?
as a side note to this conversation, I picked up an 80 liquifire that had been converted to the 82-84 ignition. it does not bolt to the engine housing correctly, but runs fine. And finding a parts for the 82-84 is very very difficult. I did find that Kokusan ignition on the indy and noted it looks s...

Re: 82 Liquifire Ignition Coil Burning Up
Key switch comment got me thinking, checking continuity on back of old switch, new compared to old,,,,, seems like new switch has continuity between the black wire and red wire. Old one doesn’t, new switch I think was from a am103286 or AM32686. Checking some more there terminals, seems like several...

Re: 82 Liquifire Ignition Coil Burning Up
One more note on CDI, when I put the original CDI on the other sled with pull start, the one I took off it, it sparks well. The two that are from the electric starting sled do not work. One of these two worked for a few seconds when I put it on the electric starting sled, then it quit.

Re: 82 Liquifire Ignition Coil Burning Up
Everyone thank you for the reply’s. I went through the whole harness today. It was patched by the light connection to the hood. I took it apart soldered and covered well. Light connection at the light did look melted a little, but that damage looked pretty old so not sure that is related. Everywhere...

82 Liquifire Ignition Coil Burning Up
I have an 82 Liquifire with electric start. I cleaned up and repainted this sled last year. This year I charged up the battery, cleaned carbs and when I went to start it, it just kept turning over no start. I pulled the plugs, no spark. While trouble shooting, I noted that it would smoke around the ...
