Re: 440/5 cylinder resizing question

Hello again,
Question about your last reply about finding a 440/22 motor and swapping it to replace the 440/5 motor in a John Deere 600, question, the exhaust system looks Different than that on the 440/5. It will still fit and work in the 600? Thanks for the help,
Michael

Mid mount fuel gauge AM52482

Hello,
I am wondering where or who supplies these fuel gauges for 73'-74' JD 600? Does anyone have any NOS ones? Or what are people using as a replacement gauge? I could use 2 of them. Mine are rusted/broken. They are 8 - 8 1/4 inches long.
Thank you for any help,
Michael

Backrests question

Sorry for the probably simplest question but, I am new to john deere snowmobiles and have not been around other models to compare.
Are backrest assemblies the same/interchangeable between all john deere models between 1973,1974,1975?
Thank you for any help

Mikuni carb rebuild kit and fuel pump

I have a 1973 John Deere 600 that has a Mikuni carb on it. I am guessing this is not the original carb? Anyways, The number stamped on the carb is 34-386. I am having some problems on understanding which rebuild kit is the correct one? I found one but is says it is for a arctic cat. Does that matter...
