That Dave Carlson is a really nice guy too. I'm sure it will be a must see when he airs it. I'm really excited.

Re: Ride with the Champs 2013
Duane, have you met him?
We've spoke on the phone a couple of times, seems genuine.
I've not seen any snowmobiling stories he's done. He mentioned he likes to do one a year or so, and said he had done a segment on a group that rode in the Park Falls area a while back. I don't think he has ever covered Vintage before, but I could be wrong.
He sees the story to be about the guys who fix them and ride them, I see that as the idiots who ride them around the North Woods ( after trailering for hundreds of miles ).

Brian, he may want to stop in the garage at the Whitetail Lodge on Friday night if he want's a little "fixing" footage to go with it.

I am being unfairly descriminated against! Just because I have had a few small issues, and won the first out trophie once, killed the Dator twice, a Sprintfire once, scattered tools down I-70, won the honory poker run mechanical break down trophie, and...oh, yea never mind...Matt wrote:I haven't been there in a couple years so maybe that doesn't happen anymore, but since Rainville is there I just assumed.....

Re: Ride with the Champs 2013
Brian,
Dave Carlson is a pretty genuine guy. I never stay up long enough to see his Northland Adventure show so I've never seen any footages of the vintage community. I did see one with newer iron some years ago. I've got to know before committing to riding a Deere. How many miles did you guys ride and how were the trails as far as bumps. I know this can change from year to year but did the local clubs make sure they were extra smooth for our leaf springers? I need one knee replacement and I have a back problem called spinal stenosis now so I'm a little wary. I could ride my classic 99 XC600 Polaris and be a pull sled instead. Or as much as I hate it I could ride my 82 Indy 500 3 banger. Another thing too is does anyone have room for one more guest in their room. I'd sleep on the floor, it's actually better for my back anyway. I'm told I snore pretty good too. At least that's what they say at Waconia.

Re: Ride with the Champs 2013
Duane
If you have back problems, I'd recommend riding the best suspension you've got. The Vintage Challenge is 160 hard miles on the old iron. But we sure could use you as a support sled. The trails are always a mixed bag, good, bad, and terrible. Bring your Deere for the poker run on Friday, the late model for Saturday.

Sorry,
Been out of the loop for a bit.
I would love some datails on the poker run.
When.
How long in miles.
Derre only or..???
I've been wantining to go on the vintage classic ride for many years, but it always ends up on
a bad date for me, or something else.
Poker run sounds dooable..??
Please let me know!
Thanks guys!

Re: Ride with the Champs 2013
Poker run is normally held the Friday before the Ride with the champs event, so February 15th. Not sure about miles, but there are lots of stops and BS sessions. It's a good time! It's not brand specific at all.Den wrote:Sorry,
