AM52466 Rectifier

Post by PolCat »

AM52466 How did this rectifier work in the 100 series? Did it simply rectivy the 12vac to 12vdc and charge the battery?
Could this be used to power a dc water temp gauge maybe?

That is a full wave rectifier, meaning that you get true DC current. The terminals are labeled for the AC feed and the + and - dc. You still need a regulator ahead of the rectifier controlling the primary AC voltage. The rectifier cannot handle un-regulated AC directly from the stator.
It should work for you but I would have a switch in-line with the electric gage and only turn it on after the enginre has started and off before shutting down the engine.

You can buy a regulator/rectifier all in one unit for about $30.00 from an aftermarket parts supplier.

Maybe even Matt can supply one through New Breed Parts?
