One thing to remember is that if they are not the same height the clutch will not travel to full shift as well ! Yes they will wear to the helix and sooner or later be a dead match but then they are wore out ! I have tried all the after mkt ones they work but just aren't right ,i have broke them as well .Maybe i am just to picky LOL .I found a big bag of nos ones somewhere in my travels they are the black ones . they fit perfect as well as match the helix angle. Just my opinion i might be wrong .Brock

They did fit but...... The height was about 1mm shorter, it did actually fit the upper helix better than the kimpex, and also the front lip was 1mm shorter as you can see in the pic. I put the kimpex back in. I don't have any mid mount stuff anymore so, if someone has a comet 90d or an earlier salsbury secondary that needs buttons bring it to Grimsby and we'll try it out. I don't think there is an aftermarket source for the salbsbury's or 90d's other than NOS ones. They came in a pack of 6 from Deere. It would be great if we could get this confirmed for the mid mount guys. Also some feedback on the teflon ones for the later fire series would be good too.

I've meaning to tear down the sally on my 300 as I don't think I'm getting full speed out of it and I suspect the clutches. I might give this a try then to see how it compares. Right now we have snow, though... so she stay's running!

There are two versions of the aftermarket sliders, one is Teflon. I stock both. Not sure if they're really any stronger or not.

Well hopefully the Teflon ones are less brittle, I'll get some ordered. Thanks Matt!

Steven, what was the part number you ordered these from for Deere? I'm going to grab some to try on the salsbury.

Ah ok. Sorry I wasn't sure if that picture was the package for the new ones. Thanks.

The buttons for the early sleds are still available from Comet.
