Hi Im the new owner of this liquifire i got it for $100 its free but doesn't run he said it ran when he parked it This is my first sled and i have many question like

In the service manual it says to us leaded gas what do you guy use as far as fuel?

How do i remove the seat?

Im going to get it this weekend so all have many more question then thanks

Matt,
If you can find regular leaded gas, go for it. With today's gas, running unleaded is fine.
The seat slides intro clips behind the fuel tank and is bolted to the rear of the tunnel. Lift up the snow flap and look for the small bolts, one on each side, just inside the tunnel.

I got it today! and i got it running! but it seems to have a loss of power sometimes sometimes it goes to 7000 and has tons of power! but the next it seems bogged down and will not go over 4000 so is it spark or fuel ? im cleaning the carbs now any help will be appreciated thanks.

It is great that you have it running, clean the carbs thorouly, then replace the crankshaft seals before riding it.

I see that everyone one the this site seems to replace those seals alot why is it so important?

I will briefly explain. A 2 stroke engine has a completely different combustion sequence than a 4 stroker. Fuel is drawn from the carb from the vacuum of the piston stroke as it is moving up. The fuel is drawn thru the crankcase. This is achieved since the crankcase is sealed from the outside environment by the crankshaft seals. As the seals age, they break down. Once this happens, air will be sucked in from the outside, leaning out the fuel mixture which will cause serious damage. It is best to replace crank seals on any 2 stroke engine if you do not know the history of any repairs. An engine setting for many years will probably have dried out, cracked crank seals.

1976 Liquifire 440 Would run at low rpm but wouldn't hit the high note :whistle:

Where do i get brake pads for this sled? ebay? there isnt many there. whats the best place?

They don't show brakes for the 77 LF
New Breed Brakes
